Best League of Legends Merchandise – Top Reviews of 2018

When it comes to finding the best League of Legends merchandise, there are a lot of places that you could look. But there are definitely a couple of places that has the best stuff, and buying from them will not only ensure that you are getting the best merch, but that you are supporting the people who actually made League of Legends and not someone who may not even love the game.

Of course, there is nothing wrong with supporting actual fans who might have made something cool that you would want to buy or even wear, but the best stuff an only be found at the official website and the ones that have permission to sell LOL gear. Let’s take a look at what there is out there when it comes to League of Legends stuff, and help you decide how you want to show your love for the game.

Best Apparel-Related League of Legends Merchandise from Riot

League of Legends apparel is one of the most popular types of merchandise out there, and one of the best places to get it from the official Riot merch website (http://merch.riotgames.com).

There is a huge selection of clothing there for both men and woman and you are sure to find something that you really like.

There are three basic categories of clothing within the Riot website, shirts, hoodies and loungewear. If you take a look at the shirts category, you will notice a severe lack of men’s shirts. In fact, the only two options are women’s shirts and unisex shirts. However, there are tons and tons of options to choose from, with over five pages of League of Legends shirts available. They range from $10 to around $30 and you can sort them by size (S to 2X) by price or even by champion. This is one of the reasons why the Riot website is one of the best places to get shirts.

If you look in the hoodies category (which also includes jackets) you will find some cool stuff as well. Prices start for jackets at around $45 and go all the way up to over $200. However, these are really warm jackets that you will really love, and they have some really cool designs. It is worth every penny for these officially licensed League of Legends hoodies and jackets. The last thing in the clothing category is sleepwear, something that you are going to need when you are playing LOL until the wee hours of the morning. However, the only thing that was listed at the time of this writing was a Tibbers onesie. They would probably be able to sell pajamas with LOL artwork if they listed them, but for some reason there are none.

Best League of Legends Clothing From RedBubble

League of Legends Clothing is also available in a wide variety of items – seemingly unofficially – from one more website – RedBubble. If you don’t find what you are looking for on the Riot merch site, then you might find it at RedBubble. They have a pretty impressive selection, although this is one of those websites where you will notice that nothing explicitly states the name of a champion, the official LOL logo or even the full name League of Legends. However, there are some pretty cool items that can be found on this website.

One of the things that make this worth visiting is the inclusion of products for men. They have both a men’s and a women’s department. The first subcategory within the gender listing is t-shirts. These are different t-shirts than you will find on the riot site and they carry sayings like “I’m so OP” and “I Don’t Lift..I Carry.” The nice thing about these shirts is that there are dozens and dozens per page, and at least five pages, so you literally have hundreds of choices and are sure to find something that you love. As for the sweatshirts and hoodies, they are priced about the same as the hoodies and jackets from the Riot merch site, with the same LOL-type sayings that are on the tees. There are plenty of these to choose from as well, with dozens per page and at least five pages of listings. If you like tank tops, there is also a massive selection of those as well.

Best Artsy League Merchandise

Are you looking for art that features League of Legends so that you can let everyone that comes into your home (or possibly your office cubicle) know how much you love the game? Then you might love the art that is being offered at the official Riot merch site. There isn’t a huge selection, but there are two different categories to choose from: posters and art books. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem as if this was one of the more popular products with LOL customers because there are only four posters featured in that section and three of them have already been retired. That leaves just one at the time of this writing. It is possible that they are simply in the process of getting some new posters made and haven’t yet updated the site, but there is no way to be sure.

As far as the art books go, there are two to choose from and they are really cool. The first one is $75 and the other is $150 but if you are a true League of Legends fan you will absolutely adore the artwork that is in these books. These books have beautiful leather covers and the interiors are everything that you could want form artwork from your favorite game. If you have the money to spend, then you should definitely be checking out these books. You might be able to find actual artwork and posters on other sites, but it is unlikely to be officially licensed.

Best LOL Merch That is Collectible

Do you want some collectible merch that will show how much you love the game to your friends and family members? If so, you are not alone. This appears to be the second most popular category for LOL merch, with tons of stuff being offered. There are four different categories of collectibles that you can browse. Let’s look at each one in detail:

Figurines: The first category is figurines, and there are tons of them, all featuring official League of Legends champions or other figures from the game. These range in price from $10 to more than $60 and there are seven pages that are completely packed with figurines. One thing that is pretty awesome about these figurines is that you can choose from about two dozen different champions and see only the figurines of those champions.

Pins: The next collectible subcategory is pins. Unfortunately, there were only about half a dozen of these at the time of this writing and they weren’t all that impressive. However, there was a supercool League of Legends World Championship pin down at the very bottom. Unfortunately, they don’t seem to have updated it for the current year; still a cool collectible though, especially if you were there.

Plush & Statues: The last two categories are plush toys and statues. The plush toys number about two dozen and are pretty cool. They also don’t cost that much – about what you would pay for a plush toy in a department store. The statues are much more expensive, but the thing that you have to understand is that they are hand-painted and incredibly detailed. This is truly a work of art that you would be proud to have sitting on your mantle.

Best League of Legends Merch Accessories

If you want to shop League of Legends accessories on the official website there is definitely a lot there to choose from. Accessories are all kind of lumped into a single category, even though they are comprised of lots of different items. One of the first things that you will find in the accessories category is about a dozen different League of Legends keychains. Now you can carry around your love for the game whenever you get into your car or open your front door. These feature several different champions and are joined by a really cool (and very inexpensive) League of Legends card set.

Another thing that you’ll run into when it comes to League of Legends accessories is the trusty mousepad. If you play, then you know that your mousepad is one of the most important tools in every battle you take part in. How cool would it be to be able to combine your gaming mouse with an actual League of Legends mousepad. However, at $18, these pads are a little more expensive than they need to be.

If you keep browsing through the accessories, then you will come across some pretty cool hats, which you think would be big enough sellers that they would have their own category in apparel. However, you can get a hat here if you want one, and not just baseball caps, but also a Corki hat and a Teemo hat. You will also find mugs, wristbands, backpacks and coasters in the accessories section as well. Finally, there are a few other odds and ends like a Tibbers mug, a keychain and a notebook set with officially-licensed artwork.

Best LOL Board Games

Sometimes you just want to get together with friends and play a game off the computer. But how do you do that and still fill your craving for LOL? The way is with League of Legends board games. Unfortunately, there is just a single board game on offer from Riot right now. It is called Mechs vs. Minions, and here is a list of what you’ll get in the box:

  • 5 reversible game boards
  • 4 command lines (one for each player)
  • 4 painted mech miniatures
  • Ability and damage decks
  • A sand timer
  • A bomb-like power source miniature
  • 6 metal trackers
  • 4 acrylic shards
  • 4 dice
  • 100 minion miniatures

As you can see, there is a lot to this game, and it is not only officially-licensed and themed with League of Legends stuff, it is also a beautiful product with lots of variety.

At $75 it’s a bit more expensive than most of the board games out there, but well worth it for everything that comes with it.

Best League of Legends Smartphone Cases

One of the best ways to show your love for LOL is by getting a phone case with actual artwork from the game. While the apparel at RedBubble may not have been officially licensed, the phone cases that they sell definitely have to be, because they contain pictures of champions and lots of game artwork. We assume this is because the Riot merch site sells apparel as well, and doesn’t want to license those particular items; but there are (if the results can be believed) nearly 10,000 phone cases to choose from featuring League of Legends on the RedBubble site.

The nice thing is, they don’t just have cases for Smartphones. They have cases for all kinds of mobile devices, including sleeves for tablets. There is a very functional filter tree included on the left sidebar so that you can narrow down those 10,000 choices to the type of phone case or mobile device sleeve that you are looking for. It would be nice if you were able to narrow down your choices by champion, but unfortunately that’s not one of the features offered by RedBubble. However, there are tons of champions included just from the brief browsing that we did in order to write this review. You are sure to find exactly what you want, although it may take you a while to go through all of the results.

Best League Merchandise for Kids

If you have kids, then you want to share your love for League of Legends with them, even if they don’t play it yet. If they do play, then they are going to love the League of Legends merch that is intended for kids as well. Everything that is discussed here is available on the RedBubble website. There are a few things that you can find for kids on the official Riot merch site, but nowhere near the selection that RedBubble has. Plus, they have clothing that is made for kids, which is something that the Riot site is severely lacking.

Let’s start with the clothing. The honest truth is, RedBubble has an extraordinary amount of baby and kid’s clothing. They have nearly 1000 different pieces and you can sort them by size (or age) or by the type of clothing that you are looking for. If you want to find League of Legends kid’s clothing, the place to get it is definitely RedBubble. The official site doesn’t have any, and no other site could possibly have this kind of selection. You will also really love some of the other LOL kid’s stuff that you can find on RedBubble. For example, when it comes time to buy your kids a new backpack for school, why not get them a League of Legends backpack, or get them LOL school supplies from there as well. You have to browse around, but you can definitely find plenty of kid’s items on RedBubble if you look for them.

Best Alternative Places to Find LOL Stuff on the Web

One of the best places to find stuff is a League of Legends Etsy store. There are quite a few of them out there. The cool thing about an Etsy store if that these creators actually make their own stuff, and while it might not be officially licensed for made by professionals, it is often made with the love of a fandom, which can be even better. You will find a huge variety of LOL stuff on Etsy if you look for it. However, mostly you will find unofficial apparel, artwork of various types of lots of different accessories like bracelets, necklaces, beaded bags and more.

You can also find a lot of League of Legend stuff on eBay if you look for it. Sometimes, you can get really lucky and come across someone who doesn’t play the game anymore and wants to recoup a few of the bucks that they put up for officially licensed merch. However, most of what is on eBay is items that people are trying to buy and sell at a profit to LOL players. There isn’t’ a whole lot there.

You just have to search around the web if you want to find League of Legends merchandise. We have covered the officially licensed stuff, and as near as we can tell, this is the only officially licensed stuff available. But you can still look around at different websites and see what is being offered. But there is a certain logic in buying officially licensed merch. The more we spend on it, the more money they have to make the game that we all love even better.

Top Pick – Best League of Legends Recorder Overall: LOL Replay Tool

When it comes to the best League of Legends recorder overall, the LOL Replay Tool has our vote. When you want to record in-game moments like great achievements or someone else’s greatest fail, you have to have your recording tool running whenever you’re playing. Unfortunately, that usually means that your user experience isn’t as good. That’s why the LOL Replay Tool is the best option for capturing all of your best LOL moments. The tool is designed by the game creators, and it works seamlessly with the game to allow you to go back and check out an instant reply, as smooth as you would see on your television screen while watching the Superbowl.

So, how does the LOL Replay Tool work? You may remember that Riot has been promising to come up with such a tool for many years. Well, last year, they finally came through, long after everyone had given up hoping for it and talking about it. Instead, people were using other tools (many of them listed below within this review article), not realizing that behind the scenes Riot was actually coming up with such a tool. The way that this tool works is right within the LOL client. You just download your replay from within the game and then go to a specific location on your computer to access it. You can also find the match that you want to check out in your match history. Then you can play it in game just as if you were in the battle all over again.

There is also a timeline that will allow you to search out important events in your characters history. For example, if you want to see your first kill all over again you can. You can check out dragon kills and tower destruction as well as a whole lot more. When you get to the perfect League of Legends moment, all you have to do is capture the video clip and you can save it to your computer and look at them offline, or upload them to a video sharing site like YouTube. By default your replays will be saved in the following location: “C:\Documents\League of Legends\Replays” while your highlights will be saved at the following internal address: “C:\Documents\League of Legends\Highlights”

Best Free LOL Recorder: Shadowplay

The best free LOL recorder out there – besides the included Game Replay Tool – is an offering from GeForce Experience from Nvidia. The tool is called Shadowplay and it is a really advanced game recording system that you will love. Currently, there are around 50 million PCs with Shadowplay already installed due to the inclusion of the application starting with the GeForce GTX systems. Those systems not only allow you to have this tool that makes recording gameplay a breeze, but your system is also optimized for the best gameplay. Those without a GTX system can still benefit from Shadowplay due to the GeForce Experience 2.0 update that includes the application.

This is truly one of the most impressive free systems out there. That’s because it has all kinds of features that include desktiop capture, Twitch streams automatically, support for notebooks and SHIELD GameStream. Any game that will run on the Windows operating system can use Shadowplay, with streamers having full control over their streams even while they are in-game and have fullscreen enabled. You can use Shadowplay to capture your best gaming moments, do livestreams and record in the highest quality possible, all because it is made by Nvidia. Of course, you do have to have an Nvidia system installed for you to be able to use this application, but if that’s the case, you can record up to 4K at 60 frames per second. Plus, since the system is hardware accelerated, it isn’t going to affect your gameplay.

Shadowplay also automatically allows you to rewind your unexpected gaming moments and capture them. All you have to do is set a hotkey and you will be able to record the last 30 seconds of gameplay and save it to your computer. This is truly an impressive system and would be worth it even if it cost money. But if you have an Nvidia system and are able to download GeForce Experience 2.0, then you are set.

Best League Recorder for Mac: OBS

If you have a Mac, then you might want to try the best LOL recorder for Mac. It’s called the Open Broadcaster System or OBS for short. OBS is pretty awesome, especially since it is one of the programs out there with Mac support. But if you don’t have a Mac and you like this screen recorder don’t worry: Both Windows OS and Linux are also supported by this tool. So, how does OBS work? This stand-alone app just requires a quick download and start streaming and recording immediately. This works just as well for broadcasting your game as it does for recording it, with an unlimited number of scenes that you can set up beforehand made up of sources from anything you like including multiple computer screens, multiple webcams, video capture cards, images, text and a whole lot more.

In addition, the software includes a terrific audio mixer that you can use to capture various sources of audio. In fact, you can even set up filters for each particularly source, so even if you are using different audio recording devices, you can add things like noise suppression to make them sound like the other capture devices. Since the application supports VST plugins, you can get just about any effect you want on an audio source as well. This open source application supports all popular streaming platforms including Mixer, YouTube and of course, Twitch. You can do Facebook live streaming, you can use it to capture LOL for your Twitch channel, and you can even transition between video sources like a professional television station streaming a live event.

All you need is someone directing your cameras and creating text graphics, and you could create a broadcast that looks as professional as anything on TV. But all of the controls are at your fingertips, so you can do everything yourself. You can even create hotkeys for various actions so you only need one keystroke and the program will do all of the work for you. If you have a Mac – this is the program you want to use to record League of Legends.

Best Fully-Featured LOL Recorder: Screen Recorder

If you want all of the features that you could possibly use, then you might want to consider the best screen recording software for LOL with the most features. That screen recorder is called…well..Screen Recorder. The name might not be that imaginative, but the features and design certainly is. Aiseesoft has created this powerful tool to capture high-quality video and audio, and you can do a ton of stuff with that video and audio once you get it.

Let’s start with the video recording. You can decide exactly what your recording area is going to be. All you do is select the part of your screen you want to capture. You can also record full screen if you like. If you want to narrate audio without capturing any video, you can do that too. You can choose to capture your microphone, sounds that you play on your computer, or both at the same time if you want. You also are able to mix up those inputs any way you like so that you can create the perfect video and the perfect sound. You can create video tutorials and switch between things seamless, plus do a whole lot more with this application.

Once you have captured exactly what you want, then you have a lot of different options as to what you can do with it. For example, you can preview and save your video recordings. Just hit the recording button and stop it to finish. Then take a look at what you have and decide what format you want to save it in. You can then use it to screencast to about a thousand different types of applications or upload it. You can even use Skype or Teamviewer with the applications and has a ton of features to make your videos look clearer and more professional. For YouTube or vlogging gameplay, there isn’t much better than Screen Recorder.

Most Versatile League of Legends Recording App: FRAPS

Almost everyone has heard of FRAPS if they have been gaming or watching gaming videos on YouTube for any length of time. FRAPS was one of the very first game capture devices on the market, and a few years ago it was all anyone used. But we have chosen it because it is one of the most versatile recording applications out there. This app will work for any game that you could play. There may be a couple of games that will not run FRAPS, but we haven’t run into any of them so far.

FRAPS is an extremely lightweight application as well, and we considered listing it as the most lightweight tool instead of the most versatile instead. If you have any sort of decent gaming computer, FRAPS is not going to slow down your computer or frame rate while you are gaming. FRAPS will run extremely smooth and will capture video for a fairly long period of time without building up too much of a buffer to start slowing you down. This is a universal application that can be used for recording literally anything, and it is always updated to take advantage of the latest graphics quality. It is also a really good application for taking whatever screenshots you want. Just press a key and you get the perfect screenshot with a time stamp and a name that identifies it clearly.

The real beauty of FRAPS is that it is truly an application you can use with anything. If you are just recording League of Legend games, then you can probably use the replay tool that is already included with the client. However, if you plan on recording all kinds of games, you will find that not all of these tools work with all of the games that you play. But if you have FRAPS, then you are covered no matter what you are doing or what game you are playing. Keep in mind, you do have to pay for FRAPS. There is often a free trial so that you can try the application out, but if you want full functionality, then you will have to pay a one-time fee to own it. You’ll get all future updates with it though, so it is well worth it.

Best Lightweight LOL Recorder: Plays.tv

If you want a really lightweight game recording application for League of Legends, then check out what the wizards have done at Plays.tv. That’s not only the name of the tool, that’s also the web address for it. This tool is used by a lot of gaming pros, and it has almost as many features as some of the most fully-packed applications on this list. There are two versions of this app. The first is the original, which works well, but isn’t as smooth or fully-featured as the Beta. But you can download the Beta if you want instead.

The beauty of this tool is how lightweight it is, especially if you want to record League of Legends. It also works in a lot of other games. Like the Nvidia tool, this will give you the last 30 seconds of a replay so that you can see exactly what happened, and then save the video clip if it was noteworthy enough to save on your hard drive and come back to lately. For many of the top games out there, major events are already recorded. This includes League of Legends. Things like kills, deaths and any other notable event that is programmed into the application is already recorded and saved. Of course, the developers are constantly updating, not only adding new games, but improving the current automatic events on the list of games they already support.

This application also allows you to automatically share those moments that you want people to know about on popular applications like Facebook, Twitter, Reddit and Discord. This doesn’t have nearly as many features as some of the other applications on this list, but it certainly has enough, and the fact that it never slows down your gameplay – assuming you can play the game at medium quality already – is a pretty big benefit in itself.

Highest Quality Premium League of Legends Recording Tool: Elgato Game Capture HD

When it comes to premium quality recording tools, you are going to have to leave the world of recording applications and enter the world of hardware solutions. That’s exactly what the Elgato Game Capture HD tool is. This is a completely separate component that you plug into your computer and that will record your gameplay for you in the highest quality possible, without any interruptions or slowdowns. The benefit of taking the recording completely away from your computer is that you can set this up and forget about it, then go play your game as you normally would. This game specifically supports League of Legends, and it will give you a crisper, more professional recording than anything else on this list.

Of course, as you might have guessed, this is also going to be the most expensive tool on the list, especially considering how it is a piece of hardware and not just a software application. But once you have ordered the device and it has arrived, you can set it up within a few minutes and never have to worry about capturing your best gameplay moments ever again. Once you have your recording (which starts and ends with two big buttons that are on your window) then you can use the included editing features to create the perfect video for you to upload to YouTube. Check out some of the demo videos of this device and you will be really impressed at just how amazing it is.

Best Games like League of Legends in 2018

For the true fan, there are no games better than League of Legends. But there are a few online games like League of Legends out there when you need a break or want to try something new. However, whether the game is like LOL is a matter that is really subjective; because while some people are looking for games to replace League of Legends with the same sort of setting and characters, others are simply looking for similar game mechanics.

The bottom line is that in order to find a League of Legend alternative that will work for you personally, you’ll have to know what similar characteristics you want in a game. That’s why we have put together this list of LOL replacements in eight different categories, so that you can choose the perfect one for you. Note that many of these games crossover into multiple categories, so we have chosen the strongest category to place them in.

Games like League of Legends in the Fantasy Genre

Sometimes, you want to play fantasy characters like the champions in League of Legends. There is something satisfying about wielding a powerful sword, slinging magic spells and using custom-armor to deflect blows. There is a reason why so many people love going to Ren Faires, play fantasy role-playing games and LARP.

Let’s look at some of the games similar to LOL that are based in the fantasy genre.

World of Warcraft

You cannot list fantasy games that are similar to League of Legends without mentioning World of Warcraft. Odds are that you have played WoW before, or you may even play now, but if by some chance you have skipped out on this game until now, then you definitely should consider it as an alternative to League of Legends.

This isn’t a free game, and it has a gatekeeper subscription model that requires you to pay up front before you can start slaying and exploring the world, but ask any serious WoW player and they will tell you that the hours of enjoyment that they get out of their game is worth every penny of the monthly subscription fee.

World of Warcraft stacks up pretty well with the critics as well, earning a 7.3 out of 10 with Metacritic, and the world that is created within game is unmatched almost anywhere.

Diablo III

Another fantasy game that is extremely popular with players (although not so much with the critics is Diablo III. To be fair, this isn’t the best offering in the Diablo series. However, it is the one that is closest to League of Legends. This is still a fun game that has a decent player base. The fantasy world is pretty decent and will remind you of the world of LOL and the player has four abilities just in League of Legends. However, there are some differences as well.

You create a hero with gear and abilities and then follow the storyline of the game, battling dungeons, monsters and eventual bosses. This is a multiplayer game that starts off pretty easy but later on it can get a little more challenging. It’s a blast though if you get the right group of friends.

Games Similar to League of Legend because of Ranking Mechanic

The ranking mechanic is one of the best things about League of Legends. Many a new player has eyed the coveted top spots on the list and imagined that it would be them one day that was listed up there. It could be too. All it takes is a lot of hours of gameplay and some skills.

Here are some of the best games like LOL that have a ranking mechanic that you can try to compete in.

Starcraft II

Starcraft II is a ranked game that you will really enjoy playing. This game has a Metacritic rating of 8.2/10 and features real-time strategy and a world created by Blizzard. This game might not be exactly what you are looking for when it comes to all of the other League of Legends features that you know and love, but the ranking mechanic is very similar. Even more importantly, this is a terrific game that you will quickly get addicted to.

You can choose from three different races within Starcraft II, and each has different builds and units, plus each one does well with a different. If you want to test your mettle and see how far you can progress up the ranking ladder, then all you have to do is get into the 1v1 player arena and work your way to the top.

Free-to-Play Games like LOL

If finding free games like League of Legends is the most important factor in your search for games like LOL, then you will love these options. They are totally free-to-play, although there might be equipment that you have the option of upgrading to that costs money or there might be ads that you have to view in order for the company to provide you with the game.

But as far as getting started and playing, they are all totally free.

Heroes of the Storm

Our first free game that is very similar to LOL is a MOBA game in the fantasy genre called Heroes of the Storm. HOTS features a lot of good stuff like the Blizzard Universe and lots of different mini-games. However, unlike LOL and some of the other games on this list there are no items to buy. Blizzard’s entry into the MOBA market is a pretty good game and gives you plenty to do besides the Blizzard’s entry into the MOBA market is a pretty good game and gives you plenty to do besides the 5v5 player battles that make up the majority of the gameplay.

Like LOL, Heroes of the Storm offers fast gameplay and you will enjoy it nearly as much as you enjoy playing League of Legends.

Super Monday Night Combat

Super Monday Night Combat is a free-to-play game that isn’t that popular yet. It also isn’t the greatest game out there, with a Metacritic score of only 3.7 out of 10. But when it comes to free games that are similar to LOL, it definitely qualifies. This game is a MOBA with a third-person shooting mechanic. You control a “Pro,” and said player-controlled “Pros” are divided into two teams. Like LOL, these are five-person teams and the object is to destroy the team’s base.

Unfortunately, it can be difficult to find enough players for a game on Super Monday Night Combat because it isn’t all that popular. But if you check it out during peak times, you should be able to get a few games in. Plus, did we mention it’s free?

Strife

We also want to include Strife in the free-to-play category. Strife is a terrific MOBA game that can be compared to both DOTA and League of Legends, but it has some differences that you might appreciate, especially if you get frustrated with LOL and some of the other games within the multiplayer-online-battle arena genre. The game is fast-paced and has lot of action, but without some of the complications that seem to plague this genre.

The creators of the game are trying to figure out how to get rid of the bad players that populate every gaming server as much as possible, and judging by what players have been saying, they have done a really good job at it so far.

MOBA Games like LOL

One of the most popular categories when it comes to similar games to League of Legends is the MOBA category – or the Multiplayer Online Battle Arena. Basically, this means that you can go out there and fight with an army against another army.

Massive player-versus-player combat is one of the best reasons to build an amazing gaming rig and it is going to get even better in the future. For now, here are some games like LOL that have a very similar MOBA mechanic.

DOTA 2

DOTA 2 is a terrific MOBA game and it is probably the biggest competitor to League of Legends out there. If you haven’t played it yet, then you might be surprised just how much feels like LOL. However, there are some differences as well. This is also a game with micro-transactions as a monetary model, with the main difference between DOTA 2 and LOL being the speed of gameplay. DOTA 2 is a lot slower compared to the fast-paced battle scenes of LOL, and there are a lot more 1v1 player battles as well as a lot less exploring.

However, exploring does have advantages including unique abilities. DOTA 2 also offers voice chat, which is a really nice feature.

Awesomenauts

The other MOBA game that we decided to include here is an indie game that has been able to attract lots of players and get critics to rank it really high as well. This is a 2D game, so if you don’t like your games unless they are 3D, you might want to look elsewhere, but Awesomenauts is a really faced multiplayer game in the MOBA genre that gives you twenty different champions to choose from and allows you to have lots of freedom when it comes to figuring out ways that you can outsmart your opponents.

This multiplayer game is pretty awesome just like the name suggests and while it is not the closest game to LOL in the MOBA genre, this game is so good that we felt compelled to add it to the list. Besides, it is similar enough to scratch your League of Legends itch.

Supernova

We are adding Supernova to the MOBA offerings listed here. This isn’t a fantasy game, so it might not be for everyone, but the science-fiction world built for the game is pretty cool. This is one of the few MOBA games out there that are set in the world of space, so if you are in the mood to try something different, then you might want to check out this one out. The mechanics do work somewhat similar to League of Legends, so you might be able to quench your craving for a League of Legends-like game with some differences with Supernova.

There is a lot of customization and you will really enjoy leveling up your hero.

Multiple Option Player-Versus-Player Alternatives to LOL

Some people are also really into choosing how many people they want to battle with. Some games only give you the MOBA option, while others will only let you battle with one character at a time. But what if you have a party made up of some of your friends and you want to do battle with another party that is made up of the same number of people and evenly matched – and more importantly are actual player characters and not AI? That’s why these games that give you multiple PVP options are listed here for your pleasure.

Although LOL is pretty much 5v5, lots of players wish that there were more options and these might give those players exactly what they are looking for.

Battlerite

Battlerite is a ranked game that you will really enjoy playing because of how many different options it offers you as far as the player versus mechanic. You can choose from 2v2 or 3v3 within the MOBA format and what is really unique about this game is that you can just battle casually without having to worry about leveling. The steam rating on this game is 92% positive and it gives you the same sort of arena that you might find in World of Warcraft, while still maintaining the feel of a multiplayer battle arena.

Games are fast-paced and you can finish up one in about ten minutes, plus you can get right into the action without having to level up or wait for a respawn. This is truly a casual game similar to LOL that offers multiple player battle options, which makes it a really positive entry for these types of games.

Prime World

The last entry in this category is a MOBA free-to-play game called Prime World. Price World gives you plenty of options for battle modes, including 3v3 and 4v4, but combines the hero development and customization of an RPG with the excitement of a battle-arena game. The game is based around two clans called the Keepers of Adornia and the Dokht Imperium. Players decide how the battles go and how the war eventually ends simply by controlling their characters.

This is a terrific world to become immersed in, and makes it very easy to care about the outcome.

Open World LOL-Like Games

One of the best features of League of Legends is the open world. If this is one of your favorite features as well, then you will really like the games that we have compiled here that have open-world formats.

Of course, there isn’t much out there that can rival the open world of LOL, which is why it is one of the most popular games of all time, but they are pretty great as well, especially if you are looking for a League of Legends replacement.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds

First up in the Open World category is PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. This is a terrific game that is currently in Steam Early Access, and what is terrific about this game is that it is based upon the movie Battle Royale – which also inspired The Hunger Games (book version presumably). 100 players fight to the death on a deserted island in this open world game, which has already sold more than 24 million copies.

If you love the idea of just your character and your wits and weapons, fighting it out with 100 other people for supreme dominance and a chance to rule an island (there is no mechanic for that btw – at least not yet) then you will love PUB.

Games with Overpowered or God-Like Characters

Finally, the last category is games that have OP characters – Gods, Demigods, or Legendary Warriors. These characters can be super fun to play and there are some games out there that have them.

If this is your favorite part of playing League of Legends then you might like some of these alternatives that offer the same feature.

Smite

Smite is one of the best games that we could find in this category. However, it could also be placed in the free category as well as in the MOBA games category. This is a game that has gotten rave reviews, and introduces a new mechanic that you don’t find in too many other games including LOL: the third-person camera like you would have in WOW. Players choose their champions from various world religions and then upgrade your abilities, buy stuff and basically create a character as powerful as you can imagine.

There are also multiple play modes, which makes it a little different than LOL. You can do 5v5, 1v1 and more. This game also uses micro-transactions to make money.

How Many People Play League of Legends in 2018

Lots of people love League of Legends. That much is clear. But just what is the League of Legends player count 2018? This is a harder number to pin down than you might think. It is in Riot’s best interest to list the number of registered players rather than the League of Legends active players. But in order to get a count that is accurate, we’ll look at both of those numbers as well as some stats on League of Legends concurrent players.

This will give us a fairly accurate representation of how the game is doing right now, and how far it has progressed since the beginnings in 2009. We’ll take a look at each year of growth, as well as the reasons behind that growth (or in some cases the reasons why it should have been even bigger) and determine exactly what the numbers are when it comes to the player base. This is not only to satisfy curiosity, but it is also a smart idea to see how long the game might actually be around, and what needs to happen to make it last for another decade or two.

Starting League of Legends Player Count in 2009

League of Legends was released to the public on October 27th, 2009, published by Riot Games. Riot is one of the game companies that handles both the game design and publishing of their games, as well as all of the other aspects. They have distribution deals all over the world, including North America, Asia and Europe. The initial release was only in a limited number of regions, but it would grow to nearly the entire planet by 2013. In October of 2009, the European distributer GOA, and Riot themselves, announced that they would begin opening up the player base to Europe. However, this partnership did not last very long.

The game was initially announced in 2008, almost a year to the date before the release date. However, the game was available in Beta from April of 2009 to October of 2009 when it was officially released. The development took more than four years, and the game itself was inspired by World of Warcraft, not only the gameplay and look of the game, but also the success of WoW. In 2009, when the game first released, there were definitely a bunch of players. Unfortunately, we were unable to find real numbers to determine how the game grew that year.

Another thing that you should note for 2009 was the birth of one of the most well-known characters of the game. Teemo wasn’t actually introduced into the game like most of the champions. He was included with the alpha of the game and was changed quite a bit before the official release date. His passive was first called Eagle Eye and gave him a longer vision range. The second iteration was called Trailblazer and it had him leaving a trail behind him that increased vision of any allies that crossed the path. Finally, Trailblazer became essentially the ability known today called Camouflage. Of course, the name changed in patch 6.22, and is now called Guerrilla Warfare, but it is essentially the same ability.

The Growth of LOL Players in 2010

By 2010, the success of the game had definitely started to spread. While there are not player numbers published for League of Legends in 2011, you can get a sense of how the game was doing by then if you look at the data from the World Championships. That’s because 2010 was the first season of this eSports competition, and it grew exponentially ever since then. In 2010, Season One saw the first Major at WGC, with a prize pool of $10,000. The winner was CLG.

There are a couple of other things to be aware of in 2010 when it comes to game history. First, LOL won the Golden Joystiick Awards Online Game of the Year Award as well as several awards at the 1st Game Developers Online Choice Awards including Best Online Tech, Best New Online Game and the Audience Award.

League of Legends Player Base in 2011

2011 is when we first come across some actual numbers for how many people were playing League of Legends that year. We will also get into the release of a couple of champions, awards and the second season of the World Championships. In November of 2011, Riot published a press release that stated that there were 32.5 million players in total, with 11.5 active players who played the game at least once per month, and 4.2 million dedicated players which played the game every single day.

As for champions Volibear was released on November 29th, 2011 in patch 1.0.0.130. He was added to the game along with Imperial Lux, Akali and Silverfang. Of course, he was very different when he first came out. He was revealed via a board posting, which was not a great way to promote a new champion. However, people were excited about the concept of playing a lightning bear in armor. Also on August 9th, 2011, Skarner was released to Summoner’s Rift. Others releases included Bloodstone Taric, Rugged Garen and Obsidian Malphite.

The first season of the World Championships had an in-person audience of 200, and at their peak, the viewing audience reached nearly 200,000. The prize pool for season one was $99,500 and the winner that year was Fnatic. It was a really good year for League of Legends with a lot going on, but it was nothing compared to what was coming. One more thing of note: League of Legends was nominated for the best Free-to-Play Game of 2011 at the Golden Joystick Awards and won.

League of Legends Makes History in 2012

League of Legends had a major jump in the numbers in 2012, as well as making history in several ways. By March, it had been discovered that LOL was the number one game being played in Korean PC cafes. The game would continue to hold this distinction in Korea until 2016 when Overwatch beat it out for the number one spot. In July of 2012, it was announced in a report by Xfire that LOL was the most played PC game in both North America and Europe.

The actual numbers by one sourcewere reported to be 27 million players that played daily and 67 million that played at least once a month. However, more research reveals the actual numbers, as a press release from Riot reports them to be 12 million daily and 27 million monthly. As for the World Championships, that was another historic moment, as the second season saw an in-person audience of 7000 and more than a million viewers. The prize pool jumped up drastically that year as well, totaling over $2 million. The winners were the Taipei Assassins.

League of Legends in 2013

In 2013, there were 12 million active players that played daily and 32 million players that played monthly. In 2013, League of Legends also became the most popular game to be played in the Philippines, especially in internet cafes around the country. There was a lot going on in eSports at the time as well. The prize pool was just over $2,000,000 for the World Championships once again, and it was won by SK Telecom T1.

The previous year, LCS was announced and on February 7th, 2013, the first League Championship Series game was played. Two days later, the first EU LCS game was played as well. In addition, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services finally recognized League of Legends players as professional athletes. Unfortunately, League of Legends would not be up for any more gaming awards until the year 2015.

League of Legends in 2014

Now, we move onto 2014, where League of Legends was still leadings as one of the world’s most popular game. However, there was a lot of competition at this point, and people were starting to create new games that could potentially rival League of Legends. 2014 was a good year for gaming in general as well.

The number of active daily players had risen to 27 million by January 2014, and the game had more than 7.5 million players all playing at the same time during peak gaming sessions. That number would grow quite a bit over the coming months as the year progressed. The total number of players that played at least once per month was 67 million at this point. As for the World Gaming Championship, the prize pool was $2,130,000 and it was won by Samsung White. Season four of the WGC saw the audience rise to 11,000 people and more than five million concurrent viewers.

There wasn’t a whole lot else to report in 2014, although the media was pretty astounded by the sheer numbers reported by Riot and there were a bunch of news stories about the game and why it had become so popular that were published that year. The game had long since passed World of Warcraft as the most popular game in the world, and it continued to hold that title all of the way through 2014 as well. Forbes attributed the success of League of Legends to the thousands of Twitch streams carrying the game that had popped up, as well as Riot’s free-to-play and micro-transaction business model as well as the pretty incredible community that had popped up and grown around the game since it began.

League of Legends in 2015

2015 saw just a single nomination when it came to gaming awards. This was from the Game Awards and in the category of eSports Game of the Year. Unfortunately, League of Legends was nominated that year but did not win. At that point, there were simply too many games being developed that modeled their game after LOL and tried to improve on the things that players had a problem with.

As for the World Championships, the prize pool for the 2015 season was exactly the same as it was the previous year: $2,130,000. The winning team for the 2015 season was SK Telecom T1 with their second win since the tournament began. It is important to note that if you were to look up the prize pool numbers from different tournaments, you will notice that LOL is lower than most of them. That’s due to the provision of player salaries rather than creating a huge prize pool such as with DOTA 2.

When it comes to the viewership numbers for the World Championships, it was calculated that there was a total of 36 million unique viewers for the 2015 championships and peak times saw concurrent viewers rise to 14 million from the 11.2 million from the previous year. There was one addition event of note: the MSI event was first held that year with a prize pool of $200,000. It ran from May 7th to the 10th in 2015 and the winner ended up being Edward Gaming.

Legend of Legends in 2016

The following year was very exciting when it came to the World Championships. The 2016 saw the prize pool more than double for the event, which ran from September to October of 2016, to more than $5 million. The event was once again won by SK Telecom T1, which was their third win overall and second in a row. The World Championships attracted more than 43 million unique viewers and there were 14.7 million viewers all watching at the same time during the highest peak in viewership.

This was also a big year for lots of other reasons. Because LOL had boasted so openly about player counts in previous years, but had stayed silent on them in 2015 and even years prior, the general consensus was that the game had gone into decline and that Riot did not want to advertise that fact. However, Riot confirmed to the press that LOL had reached more than 100 million monthly viewers, a number that shocked everyone who had assumed that LOL was on its way out. The game was still the most popular game in the world and there didn’t seem to be any stopping it.

The announcement came in the way of an interview from top game officials with Forbes magazine. After three years of silence on player counts, the magazine assumed that the numbers were being misreported accidentally – an accounting error so to speak. However, the company confirmed the numbers and also released the number of players that were playing each at every day – a staggering 27 million players.

League of Legends in 2017

When 2017 rolled around, suddenly gaming awards were interested in League of Legends once again. Although LOL did not win any awards in 2017, there were plenty of nominations. The Teen Choice Award nominated LOL as Choice Game of 2017, The Golden Joystick Awards nominated League of Legends as eSports Game of the Year. They were also nominated for Best eSports Game by The Game Awards 2017 as well.

As far as World Championships, the purse was more than 4.5 million and there were 24 teams. The winner this year was Samsung Galaxy, previously called Samsung White. This was their second win, but only their first after taking on the new name. The runners-up were SK Telecom T1. The 2017 championships saw a total of 57.6 unique viewers. The total prize purses for LOL game championships combined was more than $12 million, which was the third highest combined prize purse that could be attributed to a single game.

2017 was also notable for being the first time that the player count has gone down. However, it didn’t go down that much, and it is pretty amazing that a game that came out nearly 10 years ago since is able to pull in as many players as it does. The figures for 2017 were 81 million unique players that played at least once per month. Even with the drop in numbers, League of Legends is still the most popular game in the world. Previously, the number of players that played daily on a consistent basis was announced to be 27 million. That number has also probably gone down, although it is speculation because there is no official count from Riot. We estimate the number of dedicated daily players to be around 22 million.

How Many People Play League of Legends in 2018?

At the time of this article, 2018 is just beginning. The numbers that were pulled from 2017 were pretty close to the end of the year, so it is safe to assume that they are still pretty accurate. The real question is, will the numbers go up or go down during the next few months. It is impossible to predict, but near-pure speculation and data from other games leads us to conclude that this is probably a stabilization period rather than a real reduction in players, meaning that the numbers will be about the same – 80 million or so monthly.

How to get free RIOT Points in LOL – No Fake Generator

One of the things that every LOL player eventually searches in Google is how to get free riot points in League of Legends. That’s because the stuff you can buy in the Riot Store is expensive, and spending real money on these items can be outside of many people’s budget. So, people try to get RP codes or learn how to get free RP in LOL. The good news is, there are some ways that you can do that.

The bad news is, there are some ways that you can endanger your account and possibly even your personal information if you aren’t careful. That’s why we have come up with the best ways that you can get free Riot Points in LOL legitimately. Don’t just go to any site that claims to have free RP League of Legends codes, generators or offers, because there are only a few ways that will actually work. Let’s take a look at all of them in turn.

What You Can Use Riot Points for in LOL

Before getting into the various ways that you can get free points, let’s discuss some of the ways that Riot Points can be used. If you are an experienced player, then you probably already know this stuff, and you can feel free to skip to the methods below. However, for new players, it can be useful not only to know what you can spend your Riot Points on, but also where you go to buy them or trade them for items.

The first thing that you need to understand is that Riot Points are one of two currencies in game that you purchase with real-world money. The other type of currency is called Blue Essence, and it cannot be purchased with money. Instead, you have to disenchant the champion shards that are contained in champion capsules.

But as for Riot Points, they can be used for a lot of different things. First, understand how you normally purchase them. You can connect your PayPal account and buy them in game (how many you can buy will depend upon the server you’re in) or you can go to one of the approximately 50 retailers (including online retailers like Amazon) and buy a gift card to redeem in game. You can find out who all of the different retailers are that sell LOL gift cards by going here.

League of Legends Prepaid Game Cards

As for what you can spend your Riot Points on, you can purchase champions or skins, purchase bundles, crafting materials, emotes, summoner icons, XP boosts, rune pages or change your summoner name. You can also use them to transfer to another server. Riot Points are the primary way that League of Legends makes money to keep the game going, so there are plenty of ways that you can use them.

How NOT to Get Free Riot Points

Of course, the first thing that we want to talk about is how NOT to get free riot points. What you have to understand is that League of Legends is one of the most popular games every created, and at the time of this guide, there are approximately 100 million registered players. That makes scammers come out of the woodwork. There are a couple of scams that you want to watch out for.

First, there are lots of phishing attempts out there. Often, sites will even build identical replicas to the LOL website and try to get you to enter your game information or login so that you can get “free” Riot Points or an RP gift card. The goal of these phishing attempts is to collect leads for companies and get paid. But they aren’t going to give you any Riot Points for giving them the leads.

The second thing that these sites will do is attempt to get you to download a free LOL RP “generator” which might actually be malicious software that will share all of your banking and personal information with hackers, or it might be a virus that destroys your entire computer.

So, do not go looking for “free” Riot Points. Use the methods listed here only. These are the only legitimate ways that we know of to get points without spending real money for them. All you are going to find at the end of a journey to get “free RP” from other websites is a lot of heartache and trouble.

League of Legends Free RP through Referrals

Just a quick note here to let you know that while Riot previously had a program called Refer-a-Friend that would give you Riot Points for referring 10 people to the game, the program has since been disbanded due to abuse. However, you can still get Riot Points through referrals, although sort of in a round-about way, by referring people to the survey sites listed below. They have referral programs that will allow you to earn Riot Points without actually doing any surveys yourself, but you have to refer people to them that are going to do their own surveys and earn points. They don’t have to be LOL players, or working towards LOL points on their surveys.

They just have to be actively participating in doing surveys on the site. Check out the two survey sites that we have listed below to find out more details on their respective referral programs.

LOL Free RP Contests & Gifts

There are some instances in which you might be able to get free Riot Points through various contests and gifts that are done by Riot themselves. There have been instances in the past for example where people above a certain level that had never been banned were rewarded with some Riot Points there are also a few different contests that are put on by Riot to reward players with points.

However, remember that Riot’s goal is to make money, especially to make enough money to keep the game going, so they aren’t going to do very much to get free Riot Points to players. They want you to buy them. In fact, they need you to buy them in order to keep enjoying the game that you love.

Of course, you can also look at third-party contests that offer gifts that you can turn into Riot Points. Remember that earlier we mentioned that Amazon was one of the websites where you could buy a points card. Well, there are tons of different contents all over the web that offer an Amazon gift card as a prize. You can then turn that Amazon gift card into credit that you can use to purchase a Riot Points gift card and add those points to your account.

Just make sure that you only enter legitimate contests and that the website doesn’t require you to install anything that could be dangerous or asks too much personal information. Amazon will even add a $5 credit to your account for installing their app, which is another thing that you might want to look for when it comes to entering contents. Some companies may even give you an Amazon gift card for installing and using their app.

Finally, you might want to tell your friends and family members that if they are going to get you a birthday or holiday gift, that they should get you a Riot Points gift card. Then you can simply add those points to your account. Not everyone will be compliant, but you might get a few extra Riot Points cards throughout the year which will allow you to buy some extra champions or skins for them.

Free RP by Using Bing

One of the things that is currently happening in the world of search engines is that Bing is trying really hard to become a more popular search tool. To that end, they are looking for different ways that they can entice people to use their browser and search engine. Search engines make money through advertising, and without enough people using the search engine, no one is going to advertise. So, one of the things that Bing has decided to do is offer certain rewards to people for using the Bing search engine.

The program is called Microsoft Rewards, and it can be found here:

Microsoft Rewards

You’ll have to create a Microsoft account if you do not already have one, as well as install the current MS browser and use Bing for searches. Don’t expect to earn enough rewards for get Riot Points very fast though. This is a long-term program that may allow you to cash in for Riot Points a few times a year. Plus, most experts consider Google to be the most effective search engine out there, so you may get a reduced user experience by using Bing. However, this is just one more way that you can add to your arsenal to allow you to get free Riot Points and buy some stuff through the store.

Free Riot Points in LOL through Legitimate Survey Sites

If you are looking for free Riot Points no survey sites, then these are definitely not going to be for you. We have discussed other free RP codes no survey methods here that you should take a look at. But if you are not opposed to surveys, then there are a couple of legitimate sites that may actually be able to help you get some Riot Points.

But before we get into how you can earn free Riot Points and what these websites are, specifically, you need to understand how this program works and you should know the work involved before you begin. Survey sites are not the way to make money and you should only choose this option if you have no other way to get Riot Points. You are going to spend hours and hours filling out boring surveys, many of which will take you almost all the way to the end only to tell you that you didn’t qualify, which means that all of that time filling out the previous information is wasted.

Even if you are able to complete surveys, you are only going to earn a couple of dollars to towards Riot Points for every hour that you work. However, if you don’t have any other options, here are a couple of legit places to do surveys that will give you Riot Points in trade.

Points Prizes

Earn Free RP For League Of Legends

Points prizes is one of those survey sites mentioned earlier that has a referral program. If you refer enough people to them then you can earn RP for LOL without doing any of those surveys yourself. However, you can also complete surveys. Depending upon where you live in the world, you may only be eligible for a few offers or you might have lots of different options.

The biggest area served in the United States.

Prize Rebel

League of Legends Game Card Riot Points

Prize Rebel is the only other legitimate survey site that we know about. Keep in mind before you begin that in order to get a $10 League of Legends RP gift card, you are going to need to earn 1000 points through Prize Rebel by completing surveys. This could be a very long process that could legitimately take you weeks to complete. You will have to search through the offers that are available to you and calculate how long it will take you to finish enough surveys to earn that 1000 points.

Free League of Legends RP Using PayPal

So, if you have reached this place in the guide then you are probably getting really frustrated with all of the options – because none of them look that great or are going to get you the RP points that you need to get that champion that you want or have the skins that you have been salivating over. Well, there are some additional ideas that we have come up with that may help you to get some LOL points. The problem is, you are going to have to do some work for them.

There are lots of places where you can work online doing some kind of service and earn money through PayPal. Then, you can simply buy yourself some Riot Points with your PayPal account. For example, if you go on Fiverr and find some kind of service that you are willing to provide for $5 – such as writing a short article or doing graphic design services, programming or editing – then you will be able to buy a $10 Riot Points card or spend money in game for Riot Points after just a few of these services.

There are lots of other places around the web where you can earn money through PayPal. You just have to figure out what you are good at and then look for those sites that will pay you for doing them. Just don’t go with the survey sites. They are just as bad as the ones that pay you in Riot Points. It will take you a very long time to earn enough money to get points using survey sites. However, you might be able to find someone that is willing to pay you $50 to create them a logo for their business.

If you are good at WordPress development, you can probably find companies and individuals that need their WordPress installation configured or need a specific widget created.

You just have to figure out what you have to offer and then look for ways that you can provide those services and get paid through PayPal. If you aren’t currently working, then spending a couple of hours a day earning money will definitely help you get the cash you need for Riot Points, and you probably have the time. If you have a job already, then it might be more difficult to find the time, but it is still doable.

Outside-the-Box Free RP LOL Methods

Of course, there are other ways that you can get Riot Points within the game or among game players if you think outside of the box. For example, if you go on the forums and post that you want to get some Riot Points and you offer to draw a picture of someone’s character or ask what people would want for them to buy you some Riot Points, you may be able to find some takers.

The bottom line is that you are either going to have to do some work for Riot Points or you are going to have to look over your budget carefully and try to figure out what you can cut out that will allow you some extra cash for Riot Points. While there are a few legitimate ways that you can earn free Riot Points, they aren’t perfect methods, and they take almost as much work in some cases as you would put in if you got a part-time job to earn points. However, hopefully these methods have given you some ideas that ou can work with.

Most Bizarre League of Legends Puns of 2018

When it comes to coming up with jokes and puns, League of Legends players cannot be outclassed by anyone. There are lots of different types of puns out there especially, so we have gone through the internet with a fine-toothed comb to find the most bizarre, the funniest and the best. These are definitely not the only puns out there for LOL. There are enough of them that you could fill up an entire series of encyclopedias and still need more room.

But these are definitely some of the best ones out there. We’ve also divided them up into eight different categories so that you can choose the ones that you like the best. Some of these are great, some of them are so bad they’re good, but they are all worth reading. Let’s get started.

When Forum Users Are Asked for League of Legends Puns

The first category that we’ve chosen is simply the one showcasing the responses that come when League of Legends players are asked to come up with puns. There are quite a few that have been bandied around the internet for a long time, but what is surprising is that many users are able to come up with some of the funniest puns out there right on the fly.

Part of that is being inspired by the post above you, but some of them are so truly original that all you can do is upvote the post and laugh to yourself. Here is exactly what happens when LOL players are asked to post their best puns in a forum.

I could tell you a zilean of them but I could not be bothered

I’m sure Ziggs would have a blast making some dynamite puns on this thread. Surprised this thread hasn’t exploded with more replies!

Vi must stop with the puns!

Long-Form League Puns

Most of the puns out there are really short one-liners. But then we came across people that really must have thought about the puns that they were going to create and then worked to turn all of the puns that they came up with into a coherent paragraph. That was extremely impressive, and it took a great deal of work, so we thought that they deserved their own category.

That’s why we have listed these long-form puns below, so that you can appreciate them in all of their glory – as well as their corniness – by themselves. These are truly the best of the long-form puns. Whoever came up with these should be proud of their work, and if you search for them, you will be able to find the original posts yourself.

Okay… Are you guys for ez-real? This has been done to death, and I Garen-tee that Annie of the puns Urgot have already been used. I mean, there’s a Zilean possibilities, and I’m not just triforcing to get a Ryze out of you, I’m being sincere. Stop with the puns. They’re lane.

This is really lane. Some of you champs needs to Ryze to the occasion. Anivia would have thought this thread would be reborn again. Seriously Brolafs? I feel like I’m going to go berserk if I don’t see some more puns here. I never Everlynn would have thought my hate would have spiked towards you guys like this. It just makes me twitch. I think I’m done with this post, before my endless rage ignited again, I need someone to come stand united with me. I think we’re all on the same team fights here. Bye!!!

But on the other hand, I asked my girlfriend and she said Shyvana keep on making up LoL puns. She thinks they’re a Riot. I swear, she has a Renekton of them. Speaking of my girl, she’s more of just a friend. Our parents just tried to Rammus together. (She’s a Phreak sometimes though, if you know what i mean) But i still Twitch when i think of her in Amumu. Enough of her though. That was irrEvelynnt.

I accidentally Draven to an old lady crossing the street today. But killing is a BIG Nunu, so THERE’s some bad Karma for you. I was scared so i took the body to a river (I didn’t want her to Ryze from the dead)

I Garentee these puns are not funny, I heard a Zilean of them but I always Zed they aren’t funny, in fact, it Lux like they are Aatroxiously not funny. They are Anniething but new, so atleast please make Brand new funny jokes or Elise people will downvote you

LOL Puns So Bad They’re Good

While compiling the puns for this article, we came across lots of bad ones. Some were just bad so they were chucked out, while others were so bad that we couldn’t bear to discard them. They are like some old horror movies – they are so awful, so terribly bad that they are actually good. It is a fine line when something surpasses that mark, but just take a look at these and see if you don’t agree that they need their own cult following.

These so-bad-they-are-good puns are going to make you groan, but you will also remember them later and hopefully, if we have done our job well, they will elicit a chuckle, even against your own better judgment.

I hate Vladimir, he really sucks…

i wouldnt mind these threads if the puns were at least thresh.

OMG that pentakill was Kata-strophic!

I told you not to steal that blue from our AP carry, and now you got killed, it was all bad Karma.

What’s the holdup? Why Ahri waiting?

I ain’t ‘Cho b***h!

Put on some pants. I can see your Ashe.

They need to rename Brand to “Bland”…

Elise you get an assist..

Sometimes I wish this game Ezreal

All this hype is turning out to Fizz!

He needs a Graves because I just destroyed him!

Irelia think this is a bad idea.

Top Ten League of Legends Puns

Okay, so there had to be a best of category. There are a lot of puns out there, and it is really difficult to narrow the thousands that we went through to find the best. However, these are the top ten of the League of Legends puns that we could find on the internet.

You may not agree that these are the best ever (and it is quite possible that there are many that we failed to unearth in our research) but you will almost certainly agree that they are among the best and that they deserve their own category here.

These are the top League of Legends puns, which encompass the really clever, the original and the simply so-true-they-are-funny categories. Let’s take a look at the top ten.

Malphite is once stoned again.

If you’re going to put a blind person in charge of your lottery like Lee Sin you’re going to Miss Fortune.

Teemo and Cho’Gath walk into a bar.. only one of them got hit.

Q: What do you call a Bronze team with Dr. Mundo, Nurse Akali, Surgeon Shen, Kennen M.D., and Soraka? A: Doctors Without Borders.

They should make a League of Legends Broadway show about “Playing Under No Sight” (PUNS). It’d be a play on wards.

If Quinn kills Lucian, is it a hate crime or is it fowl play?

A guy playing top lane, hit 7/7/7; announced in all chat he’d hit the jaxpot.

If I ever achieve 0/0/7 on a support, I steal the next kill. If I get called out on it, I respond ‘license to kill’.

U Vlad bro?

Example of OP Shaco: JAX in the box.

Hilarious Puns from LOL

Sometimes, puns just make you laugh out loud. This is a highly subjective matter, because what is funny (or punny) to one person, might not be to another. So, these might not be as hilarious for you as they were for us. But if you can relate to them, then we’ll bet that they are going to make you laugh out loud as well. Sometimes, the most hilarious ones were the ones that you least expected, and that’s part of what is included here.

But sometimes, it was originality, or a twist on an old pun that was extremely clever. In any case, they are all terrific puns that deserve to be showcased. There aren’t very many of them, because most of the best ones from this category were placed into the top ten instead. Enjoy the few that are here though because they are great too.

Teammate intercepts Caitlyn’s ult right before it hits you, your reaction: “TANK you!”

Undead scientist: SION-tist.

So, there I was eating chicken and Ryze. But it was disgusting, so i threw it in the Thresh.

LOL Puns Straight from the Champion’s Mouth

What about puns that come straight from the champion’s mouths themselves? We found a few of those and they were really funny. They might have been just as funny if someone had else been saying them as well, but the fact that you could imagine your champion saying them was what really distinguished them from the pack. With some champions, you know their personalities so well that you simply can imagine them saying such a terribly funny thing or making a terrific pun.

The creators of these puns knew those champions as well as you and us do, and that’s why we have put them into their own category. These puns are all straight from the mouth of the champion that they are about or are referring to in some way.

Ryze: “Take this scroll and stick it… somewhere safe”

Karthus talking with Anivia: “Do you… feel a chill?”

The mighty Ymir once said: “2 Mushrooms sit in a closet. One tells the other: “There’s not mushroom in here”

Master Yi: “Wuju pass me that potion?”

Rammus: “OK.”

Vayne: “Evil Lux around every corner.”

LeBlanc: “Lux can be deceiving.”

Zilean: “Your TIME has come.”

Garen: “Shut up, we’re losing TIME now….”

Do you even Rift bro? -Kassadin

League Puns in Terrible Taste

Okay, so the fact is, there are some League of Legends jokes out there that are really in terrible taste. For example, there is a joke about Americans not being very good at LOL because they cannot defend their towers. That joke is still unfunny to most Americans so we have not showcased it here. We have also decided to skip the ones that glorify awful things like rape. You might be surprised how many of the puns out there in terrible taste that we simply decided to skip.

But there are also puns that are in terrible taste that are still pretty funny. We think that those puns deserve to be recognized, but that they should come with a warning label so that everyone knows what to expect before they read them. That’s why they have been placed here into their own category.

If you’re swapping main champions; never go from Ashe to Malph.

Why does no one like Annie lategame? Because she’s 18.

Q: What do you call a toxic Thresh that just whiffed his ult? A: A dick in The Box.

Q & A League of Legend Punnery

Finally, we have a category of puns that are sort of Q and A jokes. Most of the good Q & A jokes we came across were included in another chapter of this book. So, we didn’t find very many that were worth including here in this category. However, there were a few and they definitely deserve to be recognized for their originality and hilarity.

These are not usually classified as puns, since they are mostly in joke format, but the pun was there in each of them. Let’s take a look at some of the Q & A puns that we found.

Best League of Legends Pick-Up Lines

One of the League of Legends humor categories that was simply stuffed was the pick-up line category. Now, only a girl (or a guy) who actually played LOL would get these jokes. Anyone else would simply look at you as if you were crazy. There were hundreds and hundreds of jokes in this category, but we didn’t have the room for all of them, so we pared them down to some of the ones that made us chuckle. Remember, you use these jokes at your own risk. If you don’t have a significant other, you probably won’t after you use these pick-up lines either. If you already do have a partner, then you might be without one if you use these lines on them too. Let’s take a look at some of the best League of Legends pick-up lines.

Damn, if being sexy was a crime, I’d have to call Sheriff Caitlyn because you’re guilty as charged.

Even if you were Singed I would still chase after you.

Girl you’re like draven – spinning me around town.

The League of Legends URF/NURF April Fool’s Joke

One of the jokes that we found to be the funniest didn’t actually come from the players. Many players will remember the URF and NURF April Fool’s jokes that Riot trolled everyone with if they have been playing LOL for any length of time. If you are new to the game, or for some reason, you haven’t heard about these, then allow us to enlighten you, because this was really a great prank, and the fact that Riot was able to change it and do it again – and fool everyone again – made it even better.

Okay, so the story starts with URF – a new game mode that the company claimed was going to be introduced temporarily to see how it worked out. The developer called it URF, which stood for Ultra Rapid Fire. It was supposed to make everything thousands of times faster, including attack speed, movement, crit damage and even gold was supposed to increase. Mana costs and cooldown times were also supposed to have gone up. Of course, the company made this announcement just before April 1st, and it turned out to be an April Fool’s Joke.

But then, they brought it back once again, this time calling it NURF (for New Ultra Rapid Fire) and it had the following specifications:

  • +100% mana and energy cost on all abilities
  • +200% cooldown inflation on abilities, items and summoner spells
  • +225 movement speed reduction
  • +200% delay between basic attacks
  • Critical strikes deal 50% of base AD
  • Units critically strike on 150% of attacks

Of course, that was exactly the opposite of “URF” and this one wasn’t real either. It was just another April Fool’s joke that fooled people..again.

Funniest League of Legends Memes on the Internet

When it comes to League of Legends memes, there are a lot out there to choose from. You can check out dozens of different sites that have different memes. Some of them are good, some of them are terrible, and there are a few that are simply brilliant. We have gathered up a few that we find especially endearing, either because they speak to the majority of LOL players, or have demonstrate their meme with a really great picture or the perfect text to go with it.

Making memes is a bit of an art form, but the people behind these ones definitely have it down. Let’s take a look at the funniest League of Legends memes on the internet.

When it comes to 1v1, someone has to be the winner and someone has to be the loser.

When your friend challenges you with all of the confidence in the world and you beat the crap out of them in the battle, it is hard to keep the smirk off of your face. Who knows what Kermit was thinking in this original picture, but there is no doubt that the expression perfectly displays how the winner of a 1v1 battle that they never expected to win feels inside.

That’s pretty impressive, considering that Kermit is a muppet; and who knows, maybe he just finished a 1v1 with Fozzie Bear.

There are a million jokes out there about Brand, usually ending up with some kind of joke about how “he’s on fire!”

This meme takes it quite literally, showing a man that was literally on fire as a well-made Brand cosplay.

It’s too bad that lighting a fire indoors is so dangerous, because someone that could master flames like Katniss and Peeta did in The Hunger Games could win just about any cosplay contest out there. As for the subject of this meme, we just hope someone put him out quickly and that the hospital had a large supply of morphine for his recovery.

Everyone knows that Bronze players are at the bottom of the heirachy when it comes to League of Legends.

But this meme has determined that no matter where you are in the heirarchy, if you play Yasuo, Teemo or Riven as a main, then you are even lower than Bronze players.

There is a universal hate among LOL players for Riven in particular, and this is defintiely not the first meme to speak to that. In fact, there is another meme on this list that presents virtually those same characters negatively in a brand new way.

The bottom line is that, like Rodney Dangerfield, Yasuo, Riven and Teemo get no respect.

So true, internet meme Gods. So true. Yes, studying is important.

In fact, if you don’t study, you won’t get a good job, which will allow you to buy a really good computer and a huge monitor and a big internet cable with lots of bandwidth running through it – oh and a killer video card – so that you can play League of Legends far into adulthood.

So, there is no question that studying is important, also for those other more boring reasons. But the call of Diamond is so strong. Even if you are a noob, the presence of the LOL icon on your desktop will make it hard to concentrate.

The fact is, not everyone can afford a massive setup and a killer rig.

If you spent all of your money on your video card, and you didn’t spend any on a cooling system, it might be perfectly reasonable for you to duct tape a desk fan to your tower. Sure, your friends and family members are going to think that you’re pretty weird, but if you can play League of Legends without your framerate dropping, then it will be well worth it. So, don’t despair that your setup doesn’t rival the one in your dreams yet.

Just keep plugging away a piece at a time and you’ll be playing on that dream system soon enough.

Does it feel like the people you play with are a bunch of chimpanzees who got out of their cages and found the controllers in the lab’s rec room?

Does it feel like the other team is a practicing team for the world championships every single time?

That’s what the creator of this meme thought, and whoever he or she is, they definitely have a point. When you lose (and especially if it happens often) you can feel like there is some kind of negative karma thing going on everything you and your time go out into the world to play.

It can be tough to get your friends to queue up for a game sometimes.

Just because you have an insatiable desire to play League of Legends all the time doesn’t necessarily mean that all of your friends share the desire. But what you have to do is make yourself as impossible to resist as Gandalf.

After all, what hobbit could refuse sharing an adventure with the great wizard. Unfortunately, not everyone is as cool as Gandalf, and depending upon which character you are playing and your experience level, you might not be able to get your friends to go on that “adventure.”

Yep, it’s true. Most of the tough talking players who claim to be adults, professional gamers or pretty much any other thing that people claim in chat are going to turn out to be little kids.

That’s just a fact of life when it comes to playing LOL. Sometimes you can tell and sometimes you can’t, but this meme definitely has it right about voice chat.

Voice chat reveals the truth, and 10-year-olds who claim to be 30-year-old men are going to have a really hard time fooling anyone when they have to use their microphone. Luckily, everyone else will be able to use voice chat to laugh at their squeaky little voices, which will almost make up for all of the insults they sent your way during your last game.

There is no doubt that sometimes, League Legends could easily be called League of A**holes and be totally legit.

Sometimes the people you play with – or against – are just terrible people. Maybe they are just having a bad day, but many act like that all the time. It’s like they disregard society’s norms whenever they are in chat.

But there are good people playing League of Legends too. You just have to find enough of them and add them to avoid the huge number of jerks that seem to be everywhere in the game. Then maybe this meme will stop popping into your head every time you read chat.

The name of this meme is League of Legends Supports Make Awesome Parents.

It is actually a pretty cool meme because it showcases what happens with parenthood. You raise your kids well, and then they take care of you when you are older. A cruder version of this is that you change your kid’s diapers so that they will change your Depends when you get old.

In whatever form you choose to put it in, there is no doubt that this can describe both the child-parent relationship and the relationship between a League of Legends support and the rest of the party.

Every LOL player can relate to this meme.

Sometimes, you just want to throw your controller at the computer. Sometimes, you want to reach through the screen and punch the other players on your team. Sometimes, you want to scream angry insults (or type them in all caps in chat). Sometimes you feel like that.

In fact, if you are just learning, you might feel like that a lot. But just when you think you are done with League of Legends forever, that little itch comes back and you want to play it. You might even dig the shortcut out of your recycle bin and restore it to its rightful place on your desktop.

If you are a Harry Potter fan (of either the books or the movies) you will likely realize this bit of dialogue.

When Harry looks into the Mirror of Erised (which is Desire spelled backwards btw) he sees himself with his parents. When Dumbledore looks into the mirror, he sees himself holding up a nice pair of wooly socks – or at least that’s what he claims.

So, what does this mirror, which shows us the deepest and most desperate desires of our hearts show Graves? For a long time, it was simply his cigar that he wanted back. But in 2014, he finally got it back when they added it into the game once again.

Ah, the curse of having the money to get the skins that you want and then going in game and finding out that everyone expects you to be able to perform well because you have great skins.

But what if you are not very skilled with that champion yet? In fact, what if you kind of suck at League of Legends overall? That’s when having amazing skins become a curse.

That’s exactly what is demonstrated here, with a car that looks like a $80,000 sports car but runs like something that you might buy off of a guy on Craigslist for $800. Well, you’ll get better if you keep playing. In the meantime, maybe consider holding off on buying those skins.

Okay, so apparently Donald Trump (and all of the people agreeing with him) are not able to tell by this picture that Obama’s inauguration had a much bigger audience than Trump’s did.

Maybe Trump thinks that Obama’s crowd was made up of extremely wide, obese people and his was composed mostly of skinny children and munchkins.

In either case, both crowds pale in comparison to the number of people who play League of Legends. That cannot be in dispute, although if you ask Trump, he’ll probably try to claim that is the case. In case you’re wondering, in 2016, it was announced that League of Legends had over 100 million players that played at least once per month.

Yep, it’s true. League of Legends is like a Roach Motel for humans.

You can log on, but you’ll never want to log off. Even if life makes you log off to you know..go to work..shower and do all of those other things that interfere with your League of Legends game time, you’ll still be logging on the minute you get done with all that stuff.

That’s exactly what this meme demonstrates. You can attract a rat to a trap with cheese, but if you want to catch a human, then you really need to put a League of Legends shortcut prominently on his or her desktop.

Everyone has come across this player. Maybe they are desperate for people to play with because they have gotten a reputation for not being very good.

But when you battle with them and they turn out to be terrible, it’s not GG and “see ya” with them. They want you to queue up with them again! So, you have a choice.

You can either be a nice person and give them another chance, or you can simply ignore them and try to find a team that will make sure that you win your next battle. It’s really up to you and how seriously you are taking the game at that stage. If you are on your way to Diamond, then it is likely going to a no.

If your potential employer asks you if you play League of Legends, then you know that it is probably going to be a cool place to work.

However, if you tell them that you main Riven, then you aren’t going to get the job, unless for some reason they also happen to play Riven as their main character.

This is unlikely though. No one mains Riven unless they have to. So, unless you want your potential employer to wash their hands and throw your resume into the recycle bin – pick someone else. You lied on your resume already, right? Why not choose a respected champion instead. Then all you have to worry about is them asking you to play.

Yep, that’s right. If someone is saying they are going to report you and you didn’t do anything then it is likely that they are simply a crybaby who can’t handle playing with real players.
Unfortunately, you are going to run into these people from time to time in your League of Legends games.

The only thing to do is to simply ignore them and make sure that you do not play with them in the future. There are lots of kids playing League, and sometimes, you have to interact with someone who isn’t able to handle losing with grace. It’s just a fact of life when you play LOL.

It can be a little disconcerting when you are the only one with skin in game.

You can feel superior, sure, but your skill level might not even match up to your skin, like with the earlier meme we listed here. Even if that’s not the case, just because someone doesn’t have a skin doesn’t mean that they are a bad player.

So, try not to judge these people quite as harshly as the person who created (and then commented on) this meme. Maybe they can’t afford to buy skins, but they still might be useful to you in a battle.

This is definitely one of the best memes that we have come across.

While lots of people hate on Master Yi, Yasuo and especially Riven, this is a meme that demonstrates exactly why they aren’t getting any respect. What’s funnier is that it uses some sort of Wizard of Oz comic panel to demonstrate this. It looks like an older comic, but judging by the laptops and the fact that their hands are on the mouses, this panel was likely drawn for the very purpose of making this meme.

That makes us give mad respect to the person that created it, not only for their drawing ability and their wit, but also because this meme rings true for every LOL player who has ever played these characters.

Finally, we have a meme that everyone who has played LOL for any length of time can relate to.

That’s because everyone has run into someone who claims to be a platinum smurf (or any of the other higher levels) but cannot follow through with enough gaming skill to demonstrate it. Just because they are on a new account shouldn’t negate their basic gaming skills and the experience that they have already gotten with playing League of Legends.

So, when you come across someone claiming to be a smurf with a high level main, be skeptical if they cannot follow through. On the other hand, maybe they are just having a bad day. That does happen from time to time.

The Ultimate 2018 Guide to FREE Skins and Champions on League of Legends

Some gamers have BIG bucks and they are willing to spend a ton on cool, rare and limited champions and skins… and who can blame them? Champion skins come in so many different varieties. They change the appearance of the character through the use of a color scheme (chroma), unique artwork and special effects (like sound and voice-overs). There are different ways for gamers to purchase champions and skins on League of Legends. Use Riot Points and Influence Points (earned during matches, win or lose). If you’ve earned Influence Points (IP), you can purchase champions from the Riot’s shop. They tend to cost between 450 to 6300 IP and sometimes a little bit more if they are brand new. Riot Points (RP) are different because they are only purchased with your credit/debit card, PayPal, gift cards (etc). If you refer a friend to LoL, you can earn free IP and RP.

But, there are other ways to get your hands on some of LoL’s 138 cool champions without spending precious IP or waiting forever to unlock them all. It is possible to get several free League of Legends skins and champions by following some simple steps. Just like a Facebook page, subscribe to a YouTube channel or follow a Twitter account and you will be well on your way to redeeming these free skins and champions and saving lots of money in the process!

Nothing beats free, right? Keep reading for some quick tips for how to get free League of Legends skins and champions!

General Information

Riot’s promotional codes give you BOTH the Champion and the skin that you can use for your specific region. These can ONLY be redeemed on accounts that match the region where the promotion takes place. Riot does not offer refunds for champions that were purchased before promotions started. If you experience any trouble redeeming the codes, Riot will troubleshoot the issue. Just send a support ticket!

Free Champion Rotations

One of the things we love about League of Legends is that we can count on a new list of free champions each and every week to be released by Riot. Before there were only ten free champions released each week but now there are fourteen free champions on Riot’s rotation list for gamers to play. The list of FREE champions gives you the chance to play champions without having to purchase them first. For example, if you own Ashe and Ryze, you can play Ashe, Ryze, and fourteen other champions that week. For anyone who is new to LoL, this gives you the opportunity to explore the champion before you commit and play every free champion, every week so you know what you like and if you’re willing to buy them. Don’t buy champions based off of looks alone. You could end up regretting the purchase when purchasing a champion that doesn’t match your playing style and what you’re looking for. A variety of free champions with different roles are announced on Monday every week for use starting on the upcoming Tuesday when they are released for free play.

Unlock the Unchained Alistar when you subscribe to League of Legends official YouTube channel and follow these simple steps. Choose the link that goes with your server and click “Subscribe. “ This will redirect you to Riot Games YouTube account. • Go to Riot Support Page
  • Make sure you LOG IN
  • Under CHOOSE A REQUEST TYPE, select “I am having Technical Issues”

And the second page where the http://ift.tt/1dfZFmv brings up a blank page. If Unchained Alistar is no longer available I understand, and this ticket can be disregarded after I am notified of such. Otherwise can someone please direct me on how to resolve this issue?

League of Legends Free Skins

Want fast access to dozens of free and rare skins? Buy a Level 30 Smurf Account on the top-rated website for LoL Smurf accounts which offers a variety of affordable options to match your preferences. The really nice thing about buying an LoL account is that it is dirt cheap and it gives you access to some of the rarest skins around. You don’t have to spend 100+ hours playing LoL to earn skins or give out hundreds of dollars in hard-earned cash. Smurf Accounts are inexpensive and hassle-free and you get so much out of the deal: a dedicated server, a bunch of champions, extra IP and RP, rare skins, and fast delivery of your account. The following rare and cool skins are a few examples of the dozens of skins you might receive with a Smurf account…

Ultimate skins are feature new forms, textures, splash images, animations, visuals, voiceovers and sounds, as well as other bonus content.

The DJ Sona Skin is one of the best LoL skins ever and is one of four available Ultimate Skins. The Sona Skin features three outfit and equipment changes, different background music in-game that your team can choose to broadcast in game or not.

The Elementalist Lux is an Ultimate Skin that features 10 different elemental forms which occur during battle. We love it because of its flash and impressive forms which each have a set of particle effects and textures that represent a variety of magical elements like twirling leaves of Nature and flickering flames of Magma.

The Pulsefire Caitlyn Skin features a new model, texture, splash image, animations, visuals and new voiceover and sounds. Caitlyn also has an incredible sci-fi inspired outfit, over-sized energy cannon and a several unbeatable custom animations.

The Arcade Ahri Skin features a new model, texture, splash image, animations, visual effects and new sounds that are a blast-from-the-past back to the retro design of characters in the ‘80s and ‘90s games. Arcade Ahri is dangerously adorable with chunky headphones, cat ear speakers, a hand-held, belt-mounted console, rainbow-colored tails, and stylish purple hair for a super-cool effect.

The Hextech Chest is a skin that is currently available in all regions. New players can get it by hitting level 5 on their LoL accounts. Players who hit level 5 before the Hextech Chest was available through the hextech crafting gameplay rewards system received a different reward of similar value. Hextech Annie is one of the skins from the Hextech Chest. She’s everyone’s favorite combination of sweet, spicy and nice with enough feisty to get the job done.Find out more about the hextech system here.

The Grey Warwick Skin is a super-cool, League of Legends skin that was updated in 2017 and now looks more amazing than ever! We really like this one because it has new animations and upgraded graphics. Plus, it really doesn’t hurt that you can get Grey Warwick pretty easily.

The Medieval Twitch Skin is a super-rare LoL skin that was released in 2010 that used to only be available through Riot’s Refer-a-Friend until 2015, when the program was discontinued! This skin features visual and skill animations and graphic design features that you will find completely irresistible!

How Many Champions Are In League Of Legends?

As one of the most internationally celebrated PC games of all time, League of Legends is the perfect blend of fantasy and punk culture and is packed with amazing characters and storylines. Developed for gamers in a Microsoft or Mac environment, LoL is free to play. We are hooked to this game which starts players at the bottom and allows them to work their way to Level 30. New players who join LoL can control various champions in battles against other gamers. Your ultimate goal is to kick the other team’s butt and that means you must destroy their power source before they destroy yours. The champions are probably one of the coolest things about LoL, the more you play, the more of them you will have access to. This makes things very exciting. Keep playing and your champions will gain more strength and increase in their abilities as you get more experience and accumulate items.

League of Legends is a 3-dimensional game which features a third-person multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) format. It has three game modes: Summoner’s Rift, Twisted Treeline and Howling Abyss which gamers can choose from to compete a round that lasts an average of 20 minutes to 1 hour. In each game mode, players control champions that are chosen or assigned to each match and which allow them to leverage a specific set of abilities that grow as the player reaches successive levels. League of Legends’ flagship game mode is Summoner’s Rift and it is the most popular battleground of choice for the majority of LoL gamers. On Summoner’s Rift, two teams of five champions battle across three lanes and an expansive jungle with powerful buffs and neutral objectives. The second Field of Justice is the Twisted Treeline which has two lanes and two teams of three champions. In the Twisted Treeline, champions begin play with higher starting gold totals than in Summoner’s Rift. This sparks fast engagements and frequent team fights. This game mode has one centralized jungle between the lanes with capturable altars that encourage battle over neutral objectives and lots of ganking. The Howling Abyss was inspired by the popular game mode All Random All Mid. It features two teams of five champions battling it out over a single lane. On the summoner platform there is no healing and shopping in this game mode is strictly limited to after a champion has died. This map is very intense and aggressive due to its high stakes and focus on team fights.

Champs in League

Today League of Legends has a champion roster that is more than three times as large as its original roster of 42 champions  in 2009. There are so many champions and skins for free to choose from that newcomers or players who have been away for a couple of years may have some difficulty when it comes to jumping in to the game. Luckily for us, Riot Games has broken down the cast of characters into categories based on their class:

According to Riot Games, there are:

  • 15 Assassins
  • 40 Fighters
  • 31 Mages
  • 21 Marksmen
  • 14 Supports
  • 18 Tanks

Most of the game’s current champion list appeared during its early years from 2009-2012. Back then, it was common for Riot to release one or more new champions each month. In recent years, Riot has slowed its flow of new characters and currently releases a handful each year.

As of November 21, 2017, LoL has 139 champions, the latest being Zoe, the Aspect of Twilight. The following list shows all current LoL champions, their release dates, assigned classes, costs, and some key features of their playing styles.

(2009) – 42 Champions Released

League of Legends was officially launched in 2009 which would explain why this is the year more champions are released at one time than any other year. Having started with a completely clean slate, the options and opportunities were absolutely limitless. As you might imagine, Riot Games took full advantage of this. The developer did its part to release the most impressive champions it could at an impressive rate.

 (2014) – 6 Champions Released

In 2014, Riot proved that they could release less than 8 champions in what would turn out to be an all-time low (to this point) for League of Legends. On the plus side, the developer really began to pay closer attention to details in the development of new champions which is likely the primary reason why champion release has slowed considerably.

(2015) – 5 Champions Released

The release of 5 champions in 2015 was a whole new low for Riot Games and to-date, the lowest number of new champions that the developer has ever released. However with a whopping 123-champion roster, it isn’t surprising that Riot has slowed its new champion releases as the developer seeks innovative and fresh character ideas which means that it needs more time to explore new concepts than before.

In 2016, the first champion Riot released was on February 1st. Last year, Riot didn’t release a new champion until April 2017. With such a late start, it surprised many that 5 champions were released between April and November. Will Riot run out of new champion ideas or just start duplicating existing champions with minor changes? That remains to be seen.
